IT Support/Field Service Technician

Detroit, MI (Local Travel)

Contract – W2 3 months+

$20.00 hourly

Requirements:

  • Regular, local travel required
  • Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and cellular phone

Tasks Include the Following Activities:

  • Identify and resolve technical issues, related to workstation software packages and releases
  • Accept ownership of customer issues, until a solution is achieved, providing complete customer satisfaction
  • Work independently or as part of a team, on technically challenging projects, to design, implement, and manage specialized assignments
  • Interact with field engineers, communication technicians, and end users, via phone or in person
  • Isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software
  • Analyze system performance data such as error logs, system logs, bandwidth utilization reports, and other diagnostic and fault isolation tools, to identify problem issues; take corrective action, as necessary
  • Code and maintain basic scripts, for statistics gathering and analysis, task automation, and system monitoring
  • Report design reliability, and maintenance problems or "bugs," to design engineering/software engineering teams
  • Support technologies and activities, aimed at improving the support experience of the customer
  • Must have a high level of accountability, and ability to work independently
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience, troubleshooting and maintaining LANs and Desktops without direct assistance, in a corporate / enterprise environment
  • A+ Certification is preferred
  • Must be able to identify, troubleshoot, and configure Microsoft Active Directory GPOs, scripts, rights, etc.  
  • Must have good customer focused communication skills, to be able to work with users regularly on troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and data projects

Skills Required:

  • Deliver superior customer service and team management skills
  • Identify and resolve desktop and communication equipment technical issues and installation, and turn up of approved software and hardware on Organization's data delivery networks
  • Interact with network engineers, communication providers, and end users, via phone and onsite service assignments
