Job Description

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is currently seeking to hire a Quality Technician on a contract engagement in the Harmarville, PA area. Travel (potentially 5-15% of the time) is possible and would likely include Texas as well as Meadville and Carlisle PA.   This contract engagement is currently expected to last for at least one year.  

On a daily basis, the Quality Technician will engage and support a number of functional areas within the organization and perform tasks aligned with the company’s quality assurance and process improvement initiatives and goals. 

REQUIRED SKILLS  AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  


•Minimum education required for consideration - two years college degree


•Preferred education – Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Quality, Computer Science (math background), Chemical, Industrial, and Process control engineering


•Solid knowledge on collection, analysis, and management of data and documents


•Able to perform mechanical and chemical analysis on products and processes


•Familiar with a range of software application applications – statistical applications, dashboard (design)


•Familiar with OSI (PI) or Power-BI, Excel, and other Microsoft software tools


•High aptitude for Math


•Ability to manage data within a variety of databases  


•Fast learner, picks up new technologies quickly


•Process oriented and highly organized – able to learn new, complex processes and apply them to work in an organized and effective manner


•Recent grads, especially with internships related to quality assurance and process improvement, welcomed

The role will support the following 7 core organizational areas:

1) New Quality Metrics (minimal traveling expected)


•  Tasks - Create and standardize visual control of key input variables. Automation of data collection and compliance to standards for varying processes (tank, bath, wareroom, coater, temper)


•  Engagement - Work with QA Manager and process owners to collect, test, and launch automate visual control platforms. Website view.

2) Update and control of documented information. (travel unlikely)


•   Tasks - Update and support standardization of product specification, inspection methods, procedures, for Quality Control and Quality Assurance. Organize documentations necessary for all plants to support QMS and sustaining the new application EQDZ.  


•   Engagement - Interact with Quality community, plant, IT, Tech service, and Research  contributors.

3) Customer complaints sample evaluation-tracking (travel unlikely)


•   Tasks - Point of contact for submitting any internal or external samples. Catalog, coordinate, and track sample analysis with support team (Analytical) and be responsible to prepare draft report of findings.

4) Training and development of competencies (Minimal travel expected)


•  Tasks - Administrative responsibilities to sustain implementation of training application for company contributors. Modify, customize, and test training modules to specific areas/job groups.

5) Internal audit (OpEx-ISO) (Travel expected – 5 to 15%)


•  Tasks - Administrative responsibilities and also contribute to sustain implementation of internal audit program for manufacturing process. Tracking of material development and records of audit program.  Coordinate/schedule auditor resources for execution of audit program.

6) Process capability analysis and instrument calibrations (Travel expected – 5 to 15%)


•  Tasks -Study capability analysis of specific and/or selected production areas and also be responsible to monitor calibration for instrument that affect product quality.

7) Supplier Quality Assurance program (travel unlikely)


•   Tasks - Collect, monitor, report and record information of critical suppliers performance for a variety of organizational areas
